There isn’t much longer to take advantage of the huge tax credit for solar power systems offered by the federal government. That’s right: Through the Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC), the federal government offers homeowners a tax credit that essentially reimburses homeowners for the entire purchase price of a solar array system by 30 percent!
Did you know that the credit even applies if you finance the solar system instead of paying for the costs upfront? This makes the initial year much less financially challenging than many people realize.
Have you considered going solar? Now might be a good time. The tax credit has only been extended through the end of 2019. It decreases to 26 percent in 2020. Then, the following and final year, the credit will only be a 22 percent credit. After that, the credit credit goes away. Many solar customers are surprised to learn that solar power is often available with generous financing, no upfront costs, and this huge tax credit.
